Last week I got to hang out with my great friend Jamelyn in her new photo studio space.
Her daughter, Adelle, is a working model here in Tacoma.
I was so fortunate, Adelle was kind enough to let me shoot some expired 35mm film on her.
Mid-way through the shoot, my Minolta Maxxum 5 camera died — I kept replacing the film, not knowing, and subsequently didn’t know if anything was being captured or not.
To my luck, YES! I got some incredible film photos before the camera went completely ka-put!
This day was very meaningful to me – I had never really hung out with Adelle – we have been FB chums for sometime now, and I’ve been very close to her Mom for years now – but, to spend time with Adelle was very special to me. She is an extraordinary young lady.
I love these pictures more for that reason.
Film photos are like hearing certain songs for me, they transport me to a time/place/frame of mind when I shoot them.
Thank you Jamelyn and Adelle,
xo Dana
