Ahhh
This was THE year of shooting 35mm film for me !
I decided in ’11 that ’12 would be IT – THE year I dust off my old gear, buy some new stuff and shoot every week, rain or shine, nothing will stop me.
Proud to say, I DID IT!
Someone once told me “LIFE, that is your best education.” – So true for me, personally.
The feeling it gives me is indescribable, the magic of charting your course carefully for your 36 images, studying light and people, learning the settings, using a light meter, waiting for the exact moment to shoot – and the waiting… oh the painful waiting for the images to be developed…but it’s pure magic, every single time !
It gave me peace in a chaotic life – it’s my treat to myself.
I used many different 35mm film stocks in my need to learn how they look in different settings and light;
Kodak Portra 400
Kodak Gold 200
Kodak Tri-X b+w 100
Kodak BWCN 400
Kodak Ultramax 400
Lomography color slide film
Fuji PROH 400
Fuji Superia 400
Ilford HP5 b+w 400
Ilford Delta b+w 400
Please share this blog with anyone who may be interested in a 35mm film photo session !
I’m excited to do this for my clients !
Let’s go shooting in 2013 !
So great Dana! You told me a long time ago this was your goal and you did it! I’m so proud of you and inspired!
Thank you Michelle!
Exciting stuff !
SO AMAZING! You are truly talented! I love how dynamic all of your samples are. Soothing to the eye! EXCITED for all the great work you have done and will do for years to come 🙂 Aloha!
Wonderful my friend!!!
I hope that you get filled with people who can appreciate the art of film this year!
Thank you for sharing
Love to you!
a fabulous collection of images! I love the little boy on the beach in the speedos so much. Also, the sunglasses.
So many great pics, WOW. Keep at it!
great work. would love to see some of the technical details on the photos.. its the nerd in me.
These are great! It’s so awesome to see so many photographers going back to film lately!!! You should definitely give Kodak Portra 160 and 800 a try! 160 has amazing skin tones and 800, while grainy, has amazing color as well!
