First and foremost; I LOVE OCTOBER!
The sunny/chilly/colorful days….ahhh….
So, it made me want to show you one of my most favorite rolls of 35mm film that I ever shot; in October 2011.
I had the itch to re-visit shooting my old Minolta 35mm film camera, but, I didn’t know what to expect, or that I even remembered how to.
So, I called my good photographer friend Jamelyn and asked her to be a model for me, so I can figure this out? She was excited – “yeah, it’s October! There’s such beautiful flowers now, and afternoon light!”
I bought one roll of Ilford HP5 black and white film and we met in front of her house.
We tripped out on how it was to shoot, and see NOTHING on the back of of the camera, no idea what was happening, we kept giggling and shooting.
I took the roll to Costco and had it developed. Went back a couple days later and picked up the images. I gasped….literally….A wave of emotion came over me! I was thrilled with what I saw.
So, 3 years later, I am still smitten with shooting 35mm film, these gorgeous film images of Jamelyn, and October.
Aloha, Dana
